Deep South Soil is a small, family-run farm rooted in the belief that food should nourish people, land, and community.
We are Todd and Sondra, a husband-and-wife team nearing retirement from long careers in the corporate world. After years of working inside large systems, we felt called to slow down, simplify, and build something lasting with our own hands.
Our goal is simple: to live off our homestead for as long as we are able, and then pass it along better than we found it.
Farming, for us, is not about maximizing output or chasing scale. It’s about stewardship.
• The land should improve year after year
• Animals deserve respectful, attentive care
• Food should be honest, nourishing, and local
• A farm should give back more than it takes
Our desire is to help humanity rather than extract from it, even in small, everyday ways. Providing good food to friends and family is one way we live that out.
Deep South Soil is a working homestead, not a single-product operation. Depending on the season, our farm includes:
• Farm-raised chickens
• Grass-raised beef
• Seasonal vegetables
• Local honey
• Homemade preserves
Everything we offer is produced on a small scale, with transparency and care guiding every decision.
We intentionally keep Deep South Soil small. That allows us to:
• Know where everything comes from
• Care for animals and land daily
• Stay connected to the people we feed
• Adapt with the seasons instead of fighting them
This farm is part of our life, not a factory — and we’re grateful to share it with you.
Thank you for supporting Deep South Soil and being part of our journey.
